Jubilee's Fight

Summary : A little Jubilee drabble. No content as such!

Jubilee winced as the first bolt hit her square on the arm. She remembered what Wolverine had taught her and she had let her arm jerk backward - moving with the blast rather than against it. She mentally thanked him as she realised that he was right, it had hurt a lot less than it could have done.

Sidestepping to the left, she avoided a second bolt and brought up her hands to fire back. Using her pyrotechnics, she let go with a carefully aimed set of mini-explosions. Her mutant ability was not the most powerful, but it had its plus points. Like the fact that her opponent had been temporarily blinded.

Jubilee knew from experience that the blindness would only last a couple of seconds, so she concentrated and forced a larger set of fireworks. She aimed them towards her opponent and caused them to explode on the ground, inches away from where he stood.

The loose snow and ice on the ground exploded upwards, covering him from head to toe and causing him to lose his balance.

She grinned to herself, knowing that the battle was finally over as her opponent fell backwards, landing hard on the ground.

"You may be Iceman, but you still ain't gonna beat me in a snowball match, Bobby Drake."
